The purpose of the current study was to identify the level of legal consciousness of the Labour Law for Omani woman worker in the private industrial sector. This will be obtained through the achievement of the following objectives: determine the level of Omani Woman's legal consciousness of employment contract and conditions, regulations and items that organize the working hours, wages, vacations, and sanctions. As well as to identify the level of Woman's legal consciousness of the occupational health and safety rules, and social security system. In addition to that, the study aimed to determine the level of woman's legal consciousness of the rules of collective bargaining , conflict resolution, and syndicate consciousness The study also highlighted the legal sources of knowledge among Omani women workers in the private sector, and the most important methods that have been offered to raise the level of legal consciousness of women.
The study was based on the theoretical framework of the issues raised by the various theoretical entrances about social consciousness and legal consciousness. It also depended on the descriptive analytical method which based on the integration of quantitative and qualitative data analysis methodology. The study was applied to a sample of Omani women employed in the private industrial sector in Sohar Industrial Area. The number of members of the research sample were (166) Omani women workers. The research sample was non-probability sample (intentional), depending on the method available (accident);and that was due to the lack of a specific list of women workers, and to rely on what was available. The study tools were a questionnaire and interview guide, which included a number of quantitative and qualitative questions.
The study revealed that: •Women workers in the private industrial sector have a medium degree with respect to the general level of consciousness of the Omani Labour Law. ..The study showed a high consciousness of Women workers with regard to the items of employment contract, as well as to the organization of the wage rules. • Results of the study showed that Women workers' consciousness was average for each of the occupational safety and health dimension, followed by the consciousness of collective bargaining dimension and conflict resolution dimension, then the dimension of consciousness of vacations. Then the dimension of consciousness of sanctions, followed by the consciousness of working hours, and after that immediately came the Social Insurance dimension.The lowest women workers' consciousness compared to the other dimensions was the consciousness of trade unions. •The study found that the "practice component" was the highest component in the structure of legal consciousness, followed by "cognitive component" of law and rules. The emotional component of job and laws satisfaction came at the lowest levels of the structure of legal consciousness. •The results Study indicated that the most important sources of knowledge of Omani women workers in the private industrial sector.. is the Internet, followed by the regulations and regulatory guidance existing in the industrial facility. The study presented a set of Recommendations to raise the level of legal consciousness among Omani women workers in the private industrial sector.
