English abstract
The study aimed to identify the relationship between mental health and the independency among the adolescent in a sample of 11th and 12th graders in Nizwa Governorate. The study also aimed to identify the difference between the sample of the study in mental health level and the level of independence, according to gender and variable. Educational level of parents of the sample members. Using the correlative descriptive method, the researcher applied the measure prepared by Koldberg and codified it on the Yemeni environment on Wadi (1999), and used the Autonomy Connectedness Scale (ACS-30) by Baker and Assen (2006). On a sample of (366) male and female students from Nizwa schools in Ad Dakhiliyah Governorate, using various statistical analyzes. The results showed that the level of mental health in the study sample was high, while the level of autonomy was moderate, and the results indicated that there was a positive relationship between mental health and independence in the sample, and that there are no statistically significant differences in the level of mental health and independence in The study sample is attributed to the sex variable, and that there are statistically significant differences in the level of mental health and independence of the study sample due to the variables of the educational level of the father and the educational level of the mother, in favor of the educated parents. The researcher recommended the importance of the participation of this group of adolescent students in youth social activities inside and outside the school, and the holding of workshops and courses that contribute to raising the awareness of adolescents of the importance of mental health and the development of their level of independence.
