English abstract
This study aims at identifying Omani society during 10-11 AD/ 4-5 AH centuries from the prospective of the book "Bayan Al-Shara Al-Jame Le Al-Asl Wal Fara" by Sheikh Scholar Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al-Kindi ( died in 1115 AD/508 AH) and identifying various roles of social classes in addition to the social position of women, their economic role and knowledge impact in the society, and most important issues of family and community as well as detecting scenes of various social manifestations in the Omani community.
The researcher adopted a historical analytical approach in dividing this study historically and analyzing fatwas by exploring seventy-one volumes of the book "Bayan Al-Shara", The study was divided into an introduction, three chapters and a conclusion. The introduction gives a brief on study's topic, its importance, objectives, divisions, an explanation of the temporal and spatial framework, and the adopted methodology besides the mechanism of handling fatwas in historical literature.
Chapter one explores the life and position of Sheikh Scholar Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al-Kindi. It also discusses the importance of the book Bayan Al-Shara by identifying the means of compiling, copying down its manuscripts, the contents of its volumes and its historical and civilization value. Chapter two clarifies the classes of . the Omani society in the light of the fatwas and focuses on their social roles and sheds light on women's position and role in the society. Chapter three was devoted to discuss family issues, social values and various social manifestations like food, cloths, entertainment and treatment.
The study reached to a number of results including the emphasis on the importance of Omani juristic works in-studying Omani history in general and social history in specific, revealing the historical importance of the book Bayan Al-Shara among other Omani juristic writings as well as the scientific position of its author Sheikh Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al-Kindi, demonstrating women's social position and economic role in the society, identifying the most common problems of a family and society among the society members, detecting the diversity of the social cooperation manifestations in the Omani society by taking care of certain societal classes and public facilities and presenting some manifestations of social life related to food, cloth, entertainment and treatment.
The study recommends focusing research toward conducting an analysis study on Omani culture books in general and juristic legacy in particular by in verifying and publishing many of those manuscripts. Furthermore, it encourages researchers to work on many researchable topics through the book Bayan Al-Shara such as studying a judicial institution and tracing its historical progress.
