English abstract
This study aims at identifying the role of school administration in facing the problem of school dropout for students of basic education in the Sultanate of Oman from the point of view of teachers and the existence of statistical differences according to gender variables, In the Sultanate of Oman from the point of view of teachers. The original community of the study was all the teachers of the basic education schools in Al- Dakhilia Governorate a number of (7854) teachers. The sample of the study was (470) teachers, all of them were from Al- Dakhilia Governorate. This represents (7.5%) of the teachers. To confirm the size of the sample, the study used Robert Mason equation. The researcher developed a questionnaire based on the Lycart quintile scale, consisting of (40) items divided into four fields: the roles of the school administration in the educational aspect, The roles of the school administration in the motivational aspect, the roles of the school administration in the guidance aspect, the roles of the school administration in the parents and the community aspect.
The study used the analytical descriptive method, and the extraction of arithmetical averages and standard deviations. The results of the study were found in all fields between the high and very high levels. The results showed that there were statistically significant differences at the level of (a = 0.05) for the role of the school administration in facing the problem of school dropout for students Basic education in the Sultanate of Oman was due to variables (gender, school stage), and the absence of differences for the variables of (years of experience, and qualification), and the differences were in favor of females.
