English abstract
The researcher hopes through this thesis to introduce readers to new aspects of the political life in Oman especially before Sayyid Said moved to Zanzibar and found his new empire there. Sayyid Said bin Sultan as a topic has been discussed in many sources and books. What is the different in this work is that the researcher provides political documental points which are new and unique at the local, regional and international level, and not that of traditional approach which used public and marginal information. Her work is divided into three basic Chapters, the first chapter talks about political relations between Oman and local powers in the Gulf area(AL-Saud, Jawasim and Bahrain), the second chapter focuses on neighboring and non-neighboring states and how they are related to Oman; the researcher intends here to explain relations between Oman and Persia, relations between Oman and Ottoman Egypt and Iraq, i.e, relations between Sayyid Said and Mohammed Ali Pasha and Ottoman Walies(governors) in Iraq. The last chapter focuses on ambitions of European powers in the Gulf area with its sub-titles. The thesis employed a number of documents, both Arabic and English and translated sources, in addition to others sources and references.
