To answer the first question, a list of the General Purposes of the Islamic law for both Basic Education and Secondary levels was prepared. The list was derived from some reference books about the General Purposes of the Islamic law, Islamic Studies objectives and characteristics, the current Islamic studies books in Oman and the developmental characteristics of the students. The list was given to 63 juries for comments. To answer the second question, the researcher analyzed the current Cycle One Basic Education books in the light of the required General Purposes to be included. To do this, an analysis instrument was designed. Then the validity was established. The correlation coefficient was (89.5%). To answer the third question, the General Purposes of the Islamic law in all the grades of Cycle One Basic Education books were calculated. Then, the percentages were compared across these grades. The most revealing results from the study were:
1. A list of 115 General Purposes of the Islamic law was devised and they were distributed across the different Basic Education and Secondary levels. The General Purposes were classified under five main dimensions.
2. A total of 4 General Purposes out of a total of 39 were not found the books.
3. The number of the General Purposes does not increase from a grade to another.
The study has come up with some recommendations. One of them is: making use of the suggested list of the General Purposes of the Islamic law when curriculum reform takes place in all different levels. Another one is: the General Purposes of the Islamic law that were not included in the current Cycle One Basic Education books should be considered and included.
