English abstract
This study aims to set a suggested vision to activate the system of developing the school performance in the schools of Sultanate of Oman in the light of the requirements of statistical quality access ( Six Sigma) through finding out the importance and the possibility of applying the requirements of the statistical quality access in the process of self-evaluation through the system of developing the school performance and the expected obstacles during its applications also finding out the differences among the individuals of the study sample in estimating the degree of the importance of applying the requirements of statistical quality access to activate the system of developing the school performance according to the job ( headmaster, deputy, or senior teacher).
To achieve the goals of this study, we followed the descriptive curriculum through preparing the study tool (questionnaire) which consisted of two axes, the first one was about the requirements of applying the statistical quality access represented in the stages of DMAIC samples :(Definition, Measurement, Analysis, Improvement and Control). This axis was divided into two sections :( the degree of the importance of application and the degree of the possibility of application ).The second axis was about the expected obstacles during the application of the statistic quality access, and after investigating the validity of the tool and its reliability then applying it on sample of school head teachers, their deputies and senior teachers whose number was about (630) individuals.. And the statistical package of social sciences was used (SPSS) through the statistical methods(systems) (analysis of ode differences, criteria deviations, accounting averages).
The study led to a variety of results as follows:
1. Activating the system of developing the school performance according to the requirements of statistical quality access (Six Sigma) is considered very important and it has varied degree in all the stages of DMAIC sample and the definition stage was the highest stage that got higher arithmetic averages.
2. The possibility of applying the requirements of statistical quality access has varied between the higher and the average for all the stages of DMAIC SAMPLE and the stage of analysis and measurement came the last one according to the possibility of its application.
3. There are no differences of statistical evidence in estimating the individuals of the study sample for the importance of activating the system of developing the school performance in the light of the requirements of statistical quality access(Six Sigma) because of profession factor ( headmaster, deputy, and senior teacher).
4. The most expected hindrances during the application of the statistical quality access to activate the system of developing school performance are :
-Job tensions and the amount of routine administrative works.
-The limitation of human resources to apply the statistical quality access.
-The limitation of material resources needed to carry out the developed projects.
-The weakness of criteria of culture used in evaluating school performance.
-The low motivation of some teachers and administrators to participate in school developed projects.
In the light of the study results, a suggested vision has been set up to activate the system of developing the school performance in the schools of Sultanate of Oman according to the requirements of statistical quality access Six Sigma and finally some of future studies and researches have been suggested.
