English abstract
The study aimed at identifying the problems of the Omani dialect spoken by non-Arabic speakers.
The dialect is a cornerstone of society, spoken and dealt with in most places, and is exposed to non-Arabic speakers; as a result of incorporation with the community, which may generate problems encountered while communicating.
An analytical descriptive approach appropriate to the nature of the study was used. The study investigated (35) Thirty-five (35) male and female students of other Arabic speakers in the centers of the Sultanate of Oman (Center for International Studies, Experience, Noor Majan, Sultan Qaboos College), and were asked to answer questions related to the challenges faced when speaking in Arabic. The questionnaire was used as a tool for study. It consisted of (forty) 40 items, divided according to the axes of the questionnaire. After applying the results and using the appropriate statistical treatments, the study reached the following results:
1. There are problems facing the learners of the Arabic language in the Omani dialect in linguistic levels (voice, morphological, syntactic, semantic) to a medium degree.
2. There is no significant difference at the level (0.05) among the average scores of the sample on the problems of the colloquial Omani language facing the Arabic language learners.
3. There are no significant differences at the level (0.05) among the average scores of the sample on the problems of the colloquial Omani language facing the speakers of the Arabic language speakers, according to the variable level of study.
4. There are statistically significant differences at the level (0.05) between the average scores of the sample members on the problems of the Omani dialect that faces the learners of the Arabic language, according to the variable center of learning.
5. There are no statistically significant differences at the level of (0.05) between the average scores of the sample members on the problems of the Omani colloquial language facing the learners of the Arabic language according to the variable of the place of residence.
In the light of the previous results, the study recommended defining the learners in the sense of duality in order to realize its dimensions. To guarantee that Arabic learners are not confused between the spoken and the temporal levels, and they understand the differences and points of intersection between them.
