English abstract
The main goal of this Thesis is to highlight the significance of the use of folkloric literature in Gulf Drama Scripts.. The Thesis consists of three chapters. Some of the important conclusions of the Thesis are the following:
*The use of traditional folkloric literature in the scripts of Gulf Drama represents one of its own characteristics. *The same folkloric proverb has been used in more than one script, and in more than one Gulf State. *Folkloric literature was used in several scripts including tragedy and comedy. *All the plays studied in this Thesis , do not include any immoral proverbs, in accordance and commitment to traditions of the Gulf society. * The use of folkloric tales in The Gulf Drama Scripts is considered a kind of documentations of such plays. *Such use has emphasized the playwrights' ability to express the reality of their lives and social contemporary issues. *The Gulf Theatre has benefited from the use of international and regional myths such as Ikaros. *The Gulf song, used in drama scripts, included the several stages of the life of the Gulf people, from birth to death. *The use of the traditional literature in drama scripts served the general objectives of such scripts, and contributed to the construction of their elements. Suggestions and Recommendations:
*To study Gulf folkloric literature, and to show its intimate relationship with classical literature, and to enable playwrights to use it in their scripts. *To collect a Bibliography of Gulf Drama Scripts, and make it accessible and available to researchers. *To print and publish drama scripts which are still unpublished with critical and analytical introductions to help researchers to study them. This Thesis is one of the seminal studies which examines and analyses the importance of the literary element in the Gulf Drama. The researcher hopes that this Thesis will be followed by other scientific studies which will shed more light on this very important topic, and present more findings for future researchers.
