English abstract
The current study aimed to recognize the common syntactic faults in writing for grade 10 students in the Sultanate of Oman. The researcher chose AlBatinah Gorernorate to apply his study according to some questions: a. What are the common syntactic faults that grade 10 students make when they write a passage? b. Are there differences with statistical denotation in the kind of syntactic faults according to gender? c. Are there differences with statistical denotation in the kind of syntactic faults according to environment? That was by using facilitie the analysis of syntactic faults. The samples included 320 female and male students in AlBatinah Gorernorate, tow schools per state (wilayah). After applying the study tools and using the statistical manners, The study showed several common syntactic faults in 16 sections like imperative verb, infinitive verb, object, and adjectives. Depending on that results, the researcher presented some recommendations that contribute in correcting the common syntactic faults for grade 10 basic students.
