English abstract
This study aimed to analyse the reading texts of grade 10 Basic education textbook of "Loghati Al Jamila"(Our Beautiful Language) in the sultanate of Oman. This is to ensure and confirm the criteria of readability. As a result, the following questions have emerged: 1- What are the required criteria of readability that should be available at the reading texts of grade 10 basic education in the Sultanate of Oman? 2. To what percentages are these criteria are available at the texts of "Loghati Al Jamila" (Our Beautiful Language) textbook of grade10?
To answer both questions of the study, the researcher has prepared a list of criteria that should be existing in the texts of "Loghati Al Jamila"(Our Beautiful Language) grade 10 Basic education Arabic textbook in the Sultanate of Oman. The researcher presented these criteria to the specialists and experienced educationists. As a result of their modifications and changes, it has been confirmed that the list of the criteria was accurate and appropriate. Therefore, and after the changes, the list consists of 62 sub required criteria, which emerged under the umbrella of nine (9), excels. The researcher has transferred the list to analysis card as an instrument of the study.
The researcher has analyzed 50% of the hole original study, which showed the following results: The level of the readability in grade 10 textbook of "Loghati Al Jamila" (Our Beautiful Language) is within 70%, but some of the criteria's became without it.
Recommendations:
It has been recommended to pay more attention to the criteria of interaction that has shown only 0 %, in the sample of the study, which is the lowest percentage that is provided for the criteria of the text style excel. Therefore, it is required to select the texts, which have enough required factors of interaction. In addition, it is crucial to develop the textbook of "Loghati Al Jamila" (Our Beautiful Language) for grade 10 in terms of the punctuation mark criteria.
