English abstract
This study aimed to follow closely the ruling dynasties at The Dhofar Provence during (the 7th-8th centuries AH/ the 13th-14th AD) by scouring for more details regarding the establishment of these states and the main events which took place in their epoch. Moreover, it identifies the political and economical ties by which these states connected to each other and sheds light on the economical history of The Dhofar Provence and the effects of its vital role in enhancing the ties between the states during the study's targeted period. As a literature review, the researcher mainly depends on some primer references and some modern references which have dealt specifically with the essence of this study. In addition, the researcher obtained other relevant details from the archeological reports and manuscripts which deal in direct way with this issue. All this have been conducted by following the scientific method which rests on objectively describing and analyzing different historical narratives and comparing between them by providing different views around the examined issue from the previous literature. This study consists of introduction, lead in, three main chapters, and conclusion. The introduction discussed thoroughly the importance and the objectives of such study. It also mentioned other relevant studies which had been carried by previous researchers about the history of the Dhofar Provence in the same period of time. Whereas, the lead in explained the reasons behind the designated name and commented on the geographical terrains for The Dhofar Provence inclusive of a brief historical background about The Provence in the ancient eras (596 AH/1199AD). While the first chapter discussed the history of Hopudhi State(596-678 AH/1199-1280AD), the second chapter gave some details in depth about the ruling of the Rasulids State of The Dhofar Provence (678-807 AH/1280-1406AD). Finally, the last chapter dealt with the economical history during which the Dhofar Provence was ruled by aforementioned states. This study reveals different outcomes. One of which is The Dhofar Provence was ruled by Omanis before Islam era and till the 4th century. In addition, The Hopudhi state took the power in the Provence by force and during this time, it built Dhofar as one of its main work. One the other hand, when the Rasulids dominated over the Provence, they annexed it to the Yemen Provence. However, the Rasulids' rulers entertained full independence in their Provence but with sorts of designated name under the Rasulids in Yemen. The Provence had witnessed a drastic economical prosperity and trade dramatically increased, which made The Dhofar Provence the most important economical hub. As a result, The Provence was enjoyed long term economical ties with neighborly states.
