English abstract
The aim of this research is to identify the needs of the women headed household (health, psychological, educational, cultural, economic, and social) under the social security system in the Omani society from the perspective of the women headed household and the sectors responsible for providing services to such women. To be more specific, the needs of these women will be prioritized to identify the services provided to them from the government as well as the challenges they face. This will help social government planners form the appropriate development policies to ultimately provide the women with the best services they need.
The researcher adopted a social survey known as stratified random sampling using interviewing schedule forms. This method was applied on (107) women 'headed household as well as (7) members within the service sector in Wilait Seeb and Quraiyat in Muscat.
The researcher inserted the subjects" data and their responses in the SPSS program and analyzed a variety of statistical tests. The study found a range of results, including the following:
• young women headed household age's ranged between (30-40 years), in which 33.6% are high school graduates.
• The economic needs are the most requiredas it camein first place among the rest of the requirements with a percentage of 70.25%.
• Special services devoted exclusively for women headed household in the Omani society do not exist. However, they can take advantage of the services provided to women in general, vulnerable groups such as the elderly, orphans and low-income people as well as people with special needs. The support granted to the above groups arecentered mainly on financial support.
