English abstract
All successful businesses depend on computer network to improve their performance and efficiency. This in turn has increased the need and usage of the internet and the intranets. Also, it increased the data flow in these networks rapidly. This rapid increment of data sent through network causes network congestions which reduce the performance of these networks which has negative effects. Congestion control is the technique used to control the flow of data in the networks hence eliviating bottlenecks and increase network
performance [1,2].
Several techniques are used nowadays in networks to control the congestion. Most of these techniques are used for a unicast transmission which is a transmission from one sender to one receiver. Very few techniques are available to control the congestion for multicast transmission [3,4,5,6,7,15). This thesis is proposing a new technique to control the network multicast C congestion. The technique is based on using the available network resources esources while reducing packets drops. The method is simulated using Opnet 9.0 application.
