English abstract
This current study aimed to reveal the level of the emotional intelligence and the loneliness among the blind student. It also aimed to reveal whether there is a relationship between the emotional intelligence and the feeling of loneliness among the blind students and the differences that has a statistical significance in the average scores of the emotional intelligence and the average scores of the loneliness felling according to variable type .The scoping study sample covered all the students in the institute (100 students ).The exploratory sample consisted of 37 blind to check the accuracy ,creditability and the stability of the study tools, whereas the actual sample consisted of (44) female students and (56) male students all are blind. The descriptive method was used in this study, also the study tools were used which included two scales emotional intelligence scale Chapmen( 2001) foreign including 25 items distributed in five areas; Self-Awareness, Selfmotivation ,emotions management, relationship management and emotions training. The Psychiatric unit scale prepared by Abed (2008) has included (31)paragraphs/ items spread over three areas: the loss of acceptance, love and attention, social deficits , and the social dimension and it has been verified the veracity of the tool through the method of arbitration, and through honesty formative which was calculated by correlation coefficients between the measurements as a whole and its scope. The stability of the tool have been estimated via Cronbach Alpha method , and the results showed the tool has the validity and reliability factors that are acceptable for the purposes of the study. The study data was treated with statistical package SPSS by using statistical calculations and duplicates averages and standard deviations ,Pearson correlation coefficient "Pearson", Spearman Brown correlation coefficient Cronbach alpha correlation coefficient, and analysis of variance and the t-test .After implementing the study tools
on the scoping sample, the following results were achieved:
1-The results showed that the level of emotional intelligence
among the blind students in Oman is average .
2- The results showed that the level of loneliness feeling among blind student in Oman is very few.
3- There is no correlation between the emotional intelligence and the feeling of loneliness among the blind students in Oman.
4- There are no variances of statistical significance in the emotional intelligence due to variable type whereas there are variances of statistical significance in the level of loneliness feeling attributed in favor of males
