English abstract
The study aims at identifying the five major factors of personality in a sample of delinquent and non-delinquent juveniles in the Sultanate of Oman. The sample consisted of all delinquents juveniles who committed the crime of robbery and deposited in the Central prison in "Samail" and released until April 2017, and (100) non-delinquent adolescents in North Alsharqia Province. The researcher used the five major factors index (NEO-FFI-S) for Costa and Macri and the Arabization of Al-Kalbani (2006). The results show that there were moderate levels in all five major factors of the personality in delinquents and non-delinquents, except for the conscience alert factor that showed a low level in the delinquent and non delinquent. The study also shows statistically significant differences at the level of (a < 0.05) between delinquents and non-delinquents in the gangs and openness employees, and the averages of the calculation was to non delinquents. In admissible or good factors and conscience alert the results was positive for delinquents. While there are no significant differences at the level of (a < 0.05) between delinquents and non-delinquents in the diastolic factor.
In terms of age, educational level, economic level and marital status of the family, all shows no significance at the level of (a < 0.05) in the five major factors of the personality of delinquents and non-delinquents.
