English abstract
The study aimed at identifying the decision making obstacles of principals in the basic education schools in Al-Dakhilia governorate in Sultanate of Oman, and identifying the Statistical significant differences of the study sample variables which are : gender, qualifications and year career experience). The study is based on the descriptive method. It is conducted through questionnaire that had been applied to a sample consisted of 136 of the principals of basic education schools in Al-Dakhilia governorate,
The study concluded up several results, one of which is that that principals of the basic education schools in Al-Dakhilia governorate in Sultanate of Oman suffer from some few obstacles that quite makes it difficult to make decision according to the sample's point of view. The results also showed that they suffer humanity, administrative and organizational obstacles in low percentage. As for technical obstacles, the percentage is average. In addition, the results also pointed out that there is no Statistical significant differences at (a < 0.05) level which are attributable to the gender variable in the all areas except the technical obstacles, and that was in women favor. It also showed that there are no Statistical significant differences attributable to the qualifications in all areas except the technical obstacles which were in the favor of the master degree. Moreover, there is no Statistical significant differences attributed to the year career experience in all areas.
The study has some recommendations. One of which is conducting decision making courses and programs for the principals, precisely in technology, Additionally, it is important to select principals based on certain standards that qualified them to lead the administrative work. A regular maintenance of all equipment in the school is very important. Moreover, it is significant to provide the principals with chances that allow them to participate in conducting training courses relevant to making decision.
