English abstract
This study aimed at identifying body image in adolescents and the use of social media and the relationship between them. This study use the correlative descriptive study and the questionnaire has been utilized as a tool study. This study was applied to 600 students of the eighth , ninth and tenth grade from schools in AL-Dhakhlya Governorate In Sultanate of Oman The study reached to the following results:
There is a satisfaction about the body image among the study sample since the level of satisfaction was within the level of medium and large .
There are no statistically significant differences at the level of significance (a<0,05) about the level of satisfaction among the study sample of male and female about the body image. The percentage of the sample who social media was high. motive behind the use of teenagers means of social media was centered on the identification of the news and keeping up with modern technolog.
The degree of the study sample approval about the importance of using social media were among medium degree of approval . There are a statistically significant differences at the level of significance (as0,05) on the use of social media between male and female in favor of males. There is a positive and statistical correlation between the sample's level in satisfaction scale for body image and the degree of the sample in the scale of the use of social media and this means from the point of view of the study sample that the positive image of the body has a positive role in the use of social media.
