English abstract
The study aims to identify the fear of flying (Aviophobia) and its relationship with personal and demographic variables. The study is consisted of all Omani adults travellers who were in the Departure hall in Muscat. There are about 200 travellers. The results revealed that there is significant effect of fear of flying (Aviophobia) due to the variable of qualifications, symptoms and extraversion feature. On the other hand, the study found that the same with there is significant correlation between flying situation anxiety, anxiety symptoms and Neurosis feature. The study recommends using strategies that decrease flying fear especially for passengers who have such a type of fear and has excessive allergy concerning that, which leads to extreme fatigue, nausea, difficulty breathing and other symptoms. Furthermore, the study recommends that aviation companies shall adapt and apply new effective methods to reduce anxiety and provide methods that make passengers feel more safe through their airlines.
