There are basic variables that occurred
and accompanied the history of
police work, and played an important
role in bringing about fundamental
transformations, including the nature
of police work and its organizational
structure. These variables are due to many factors,
foremost of which is technological
development and its repercussions on the
nature of social and economic relations
and structures and the accompanying
phenomena such as globalization,
terrorism, extremism, the digital economy,
organized and emerging crimes, and the
development of means of communication
and communication..
These changes have led to vital
transformations in various fields, including
police work in terms of the nature of police
institutions and the role they play. The
functions are no longer limited to security
and law enforcement, but community
service has become at the forefront of
the priorities of police work. In addition,
police organizations strive to improve
performance of its employees and their
professionalism.
In the face of these changes and
transformations, the police forces had
to review the methods, curricula and
philosophy of training, rehabilitation and
education that policemen receive, in order
to provide them with acquiring knowledge
and skills that would enable them to adapt
to the changes that occurred in society
and respond to its needs.
Many countries have revised their police
education curricula, and established
universities specializedinpolicework, and
began cooperating with other institutions
of higher education. The higher education
for policemen has become a tangible
reality and an accelerating trend.
In the midst of these changes, the concept
of police education as a discourse and
a goal took an escalating path in terms
of interest, research and discussion,
and its content, level and methods of
implementation became a wide field in
which schools and systems varied.
In light of that, this research, through the
descriptive analytical approach, seeks to
study (police education) and discusses
this concept by, reviewing the international experiences in this field and analyzing its
dimensions and future trends.

ثمة متغيرات أساسية، حصلت ورافقت مسيرة العمل ً الشرطي، ولعبت دور ًا مهماّ في أحداث تحولات جوهرية شملت طبيعة العمل الشرطة وبنيته التنظيمية. تعود هذه المتغيرات إلى عوامل عديدة، في مقدمتها التطور التكنولوجي وانعكاساته عىل طبيعة العلاقات والبنى الاجتماعية والاقتصادية وهيكلها في عالمنا المعاصرّ وما رافقها من ظواهر مثل: العولمة، والإرهاب، والتطرف، والاقتصاد الرقمي، والجرائم المنظمة و المستحدثة، وتطور وسائل الاتصال والتواصل. ّ لقد أدت هذه المتغيرات إلى تحولات جذرية في مختلف ّ الشرطة والدور الذي تؤديه، فالمهام لم تعد لى استتباب الأمن وإنفاذ القانون وإنّما أصبحت خدمة المجتمع من أوليات العمل الشرطي.
