Oman›s democratic experience has been characterized by a gradual and distinct transformational path from other democratic experiences in the Arabian Gulf region, clearly reflected in the experience of elections for members of the Shura Council by the Omani citizen, which has been associated with a parallel path in the development of legislative regulations and laws related to the functions and roles of the Council, particularly the roles and functions of oversight of the work of the executive branch, and therefore, the purpose of this research The request for briefing is identified as one of the tools of parliamentary oversight of the work of the executive branch, and the statement of its conditions and procedures, the impact and effectiveness of achieving its oversight objectives in Omani law and comparative laws. He saw something that he knew and the competent minister did not know, and that Omani law is almost the only Arab law that provided for the use of the briefing request within the tools of parliamentary oversight like the Egyptian system, and recom mended research with several recommendations, the most important of which is: directing researchers to carry out more studies and research that are more concerned with the tools of parliamentary oversight in Omani law, and to delve deeper into the study of the legal regulation of these tools, particularly the request for briefing, due to the scarcity of studies concerned, especially in light of the Law of the Council of Oman No. 7/2021.
