This study aimed to identify the effectiveness of the digital story strategy in
improving the written expression skills among fourth grade students.
To collect data, lessons of written expression were designed based on digital
story strategy by preparing a guide on how to use them in improving written
expression skills. The researcher also prepared a list that contained written
expression skills for fourth-grade students.
The subjects of the study consisted of 37 Students, divided into two groups: the
experimental group of 21 students was taught the written expression skills by
using the digital story strategy and control group of 16 students was taught
without using the strategy.
To achieve the aims of the study, a quasi-experimental approach was used. A
posttest
A post of written expression skills was applied to both groups after
checking its reliability and validity. The Alpha Cronbach coefficient of the
posttest reached (0.93).
The results revealed statistically significant differences in the students' written
expression skills due to the digital story strategy.
In the light of the results, the study recommended to improve written
expression skills by using digital stories and conducting more studies to
investigate the effectiveness of the digital stories in developing other language
skills
