The study aimed to explore the level of environmental awareness among science teachers in Al Batinah South Governorate and its relationship to some variables, namely (gender, scientific specialization, number of years of service, the teacher study a course related to the environment in his university studies). To achieve the goals of the study, the researcher used the descriptive approach as it is appropriate to the nature of the study, He prepared a measurement of environmental awareness that was confirmed as being honest and consistent by appropriate methods. The study consisted of all science teachers in the second cycle schools in South Al Batinah Governorate in the academic year 2018/2019. They were (618) teachers; (278) male teachers and (340) female teachers. The final study sample consisted of (168) teacher; (66) male and (102) female, i.e. (29%) of the original study community, using the simple random method.
The results of the study indicated that the level of environmental awareness among teachers in the Al Batinah South Governorate of Science was within the high level, and the results also showed that there were no statistically significant differences at the level of significance( α = 0.05) between male and female teachers in the level of environmental awareness fields of the gender variable, The results showed that there were no statistically significant differences at the level of (α = 0.05) in all areas of environmental awareness in relation to the variable of the level of specialization, as the results showed that there were no statistically significant differences and the level of ( α = 0.05) between science teachers in the level of environmental awareness and the toal score is attributed to the variable of teacher studied a course related to the environment in his university studies, and the results also showed the absence of statistically significant differences in all areas of environmental awareness and the total degree in relation to the variable level of the number of years of service. The results of this study recommend opening an integrated course in colleges and universities to teach undergraduate students courses related to the environment and its problems. The Ministry of Higher Education should work to enact laws and legislations to protect the environment from deterioration, and spread environmental awareness among citizens. And Ministry of Environment and Climate Affairs should. Enrich the sources of Learning with books, videos and educational aids to increase the level of environmental awareness among teachers and students.
