The study aimed at determining the effectiveness of the Learning Cycle on Achievement, Retention and logical thinking of first secondary female students. The population of the study consisted of first secondary females in Aldakhiliya Directorate Of Education during the academic year 2004/2005 A sample of ( 121) students chosen from Shaatha Bint Jaber Bin Ziyd school. The sample was divided into two group: The experimental group which was taught using Learning Cycle, consisted (60) students The second group was the control group which was taught by conventional method, consisted of (61) students. And collect data of the study, multiple choice test which consisted of (22) items was used. The validity of the test was established through repeated reviews y different judges. In the light of their reviews the test was re-written . The reliability was determined through Chronbachs Alpha coefficient for internal consistency which gave the value of (0.80) and mathematics logical thinking test The test consisted of (30) items, distributed to (5) each logical Rules, for (6) items to each rule. The statistical analysis of the post test showed there were significant differences between the group means at(a=0.05) duet treatment in favor of the learning cycle. But the statistical analysis of the retention- test showed no significant differences between the groups ata =0.05) due treatment in favor of the learning cycle. The statistical analysis of the mathematical logical thinking test showed that there were significant differences between the groups means at(a=0.05) duet treatment in favor of the learning cycle. According to the findings of this study, the researcher recommended conducting similar studies using different school levels and other variables, she also recommended conducting training work-shops for both teachers and supervisors to acquaint them with the learning cycle.
