This study aimed to investigate the proposed causal model that described the relations between the Perception of Parental Expectations, Academic Delay of Gratification, and Academic Achievement among a sample of the 12th grade students. Further more, the study attempted to investigate the role of the Academic Delay of Gratification as mediating variable in the relationship between the Perception of Parental Expectations and Academic Achievement. Finally, it sought to study the gender differences in both the Perception of Parental Expectations and Academic Delay of Gratification. The study sample consisted of (415) students from the 12th grade, (204) males and (211) females. The tools used in this study were: The Academic Delay of Gratification scale (ADGS) (Bembenutty & Karabenick, 1998a), and the Perception of Parental Expectations that was developed by the investigator. The results showed that through a causal model identical to the data predict the students' scores on Academic Delay of Gratification through their scores on the scale of Perception of Parental Expectations. The results also indicated that the prediction of varying academic achievement of students through their scores on the scale of Academic Delay of Gratification, as students' scores can also be predicted through their grades on the Perception of Parental Expectations scale. Further more, the results showed that Academic Delay of Gratification was able to mediate the relationship between the Perception of Parental Expectations and academic achievement. Finally, the results revealed a statistically significant difference at the level of 0.05 between male and female students in their mean scores on the scale of Perception of Parental Expectations in favor of female students, and statistically significant differences at the level of 0.05 between male and female students in mean scores on the scale of Academic Delay of Gratification in favor of female students,
