evaluating the Modern European History textbook for the first secondary Grade from teachers point of view about the availability of the following criteria (production - educational and learning objectives – content – learning activities – learning media - evaluation). To answer the study questions, the researcher prepared a questionnaire based on a review of the educational literature related to evaluation and analysis of curriculum and textbook of social studies in general and curriculum and textbook of history in particular. The validity of the questionnaire was conducted by showing this questionnaire to a group of specialists to obtain their feedback. Through this feedback the Final version of the questionnaire was created. This questionnaire contains of criteria divided into six categories: production - educational and learning objectives – content – learning activities - learning media - evaluation. Reliability of the questionnaire was tested by using reliability factor Alpha for Cronbach by appliny the questionnaire on a sample of 25 male and female history teachers at the secondary level in the Sultanate of Oman. Reliability was (0,96) for all items, which refers to a high factor that refers to reliability of the items of the questionnaires. The study found many results sush as:
- Objectives category was the best category in the textbook followed by the production category, then the content, the evaluation, learning activities, and finally the learning media category. - There are no statistically significant differences in the evaluation of history teachers of the categories in relations to the gender of teachers. - There are statistically significant differences in the evaluation of history teachers of the different categories in relation to the experience of teachers in the production category. However there are no statistically significant differences in the other categories
