This study aimed to identify the effectiveness of strategic planning in school crisis management in post-basic education in Muscat governorate, and to discover the impact of differing type variables, and function, and experience.
To achieve the objectives of the study, the descriptive approach is used, preparing questionnaire included (53) paragraphs, divided into five matters related to the areas of strategic planning in the school crisis management:( prepare strategic planning for school crisis management, the strategic analysis of school crisis management, strategic direction for school crisis management, the implementation of strategic plan of school crisis management, evaluate and pursuance strategic plan. Questionnaire was applied on (250) members of the governing body, counseling specialists, and head teachers.
After processing the data statistically using SPSS, the most important results were found that the degree of effectiveness of strategic planning in school crisis management in post-basic education was in average grade in five areas, and strategic planning of school crisis management was in high grade, while the lowest grade areas of effective planning for school crisis management is the implementation of the strategic plan which was in average grade. As the results showed no statistically significant differences between the average sample of the study related to the variable Position answers, and expertise in all areas, while there are significant differences according to gender and they are in favor of females in the field of strategic direction of school crisis management.
In conclusion, the study suggests a number of recommendations, including: the need to reformulate the name of "Security and Safety" to "School Crisis Management. Also, the formation of the school crisis management team of Administrators, Teachers, Students, and members of the Boards of Parents. In addition, Work on a precise strategic analysis of the school's internal and external environments to facilitate future crisis management process and early prediction of school crises. Finally, the development of training programs to increase the efficiency of the school crisis management team to implement strategic plans for crisis management by the Directorate-General for Education and these programs takes status of continuity.
