The study aims at investigating the attitudes of Omani Social Studies Teachers towards the National Identity. The study sample consisted of (230) Social Studies Teachers randomly selected from Muscat and Al Batinah- North provinces. A questionnaire was developed include (44) items spread over (6) main components: upbringing of National Identity, Omani Identity, Attitudes towards the National Identity, Individual Identity and Privacy, Impact of Globalization on National Identity, and Enhancement of National Identity. The questionnaire was validated by a jury panel and its reliability was established through applying it on an out-of-sample consisting of (15)teachers considering an Alpha Chroubach of (0.84), which reflects a high level of internal consistency.
The study reveals that the Omani Social Studies Teachers have positive attitudes towards the National Identity, which was evidenced by an average of (4.07). Additionally, the study findings reflect statistical differences between the teachers, which are attributed to the teacher's gender. These statistical differences indicate that female teachers have higher positive attitudes towards the National Identity compared to the male teachers in domain, However, the study has not revealed any differences between the teachers attitudes due to their provinces.
The researcher emphasize on the importance of the social studies teachers role in implement the omani national values in their students and on the omani society in general, they also play a major role in activate the institutions , role that support the national identity and this will help a lot in national identity and will stop any globalization on our identity.
