The study seeks to identify the degree of professional awareness among students of vocational colleges in the Sultanate of
Oman and its relationship to some variables, (gender, stage, college, major). The study population consisted of all students of vocational colleges in al Seeb and Ibri in the third semester of the academic year 2018/2019, amounting to (1683) male and female students. The number of the sample of the study is (170) male and female students. To achieve the objectives of the study, the descriptive method was
applied and a scale to measure the degree of professional awareness was developed constituted of (31) paragraphs distributed over three fields, (cognitive, emotional and skills). After confirming the authenticity and the reliability of the scale, it was distributed to the students.
The findings of the study shows a high degree of professional awareness in the scale as a whole, very high in the skill field, and high professional awareness of the cognitive and emotional areas. The
results of the study also showed that there are statistically significant
differences in the degree of professional awareness among students
attributed to the educational stage variable in favor of the sample of
short courses students in the cognitive field. Moreover, in the college
variable, the difference was in favor of the sample of the vocational
college in al Seeb in the emotional field. The results show that there is
no statistically significant difference attributed to the variables of
gender and major.
