This study aimed to measure the extent to which the Islamic education teachers of the second cycle of basic education have the 21st century skills from the point of view of the head teachers and the teachers themselves. In order to achieve the objectives of the study, the researcher adopted the descriptive survey method. The questionnaire was used as a tool to collect information. It was consisted of (46) items on four areas: Learning and innovation skills, communication and collaboration skills, digital literacy, career and life skills.
After being proved as a stable and valid tool, the questionnaire was implemented on the survey sample that included; (102) male and female head teachers, and (304) male and female teachers from four governorates.
The survey results revealed that:
1- The majority of Islamic education teachers have the skills of the 21st in all fields (learning and innovation skills, communication and cooperation skills, digital culture skills, and career and life skills).
2- There is a significant difference between the point of view of the head teachers and the teachers themselves on the degree to which Islamic education teachers are maintaining the 21st century`s skills attributed to the teacher.
3- There were statistically significant differences at (a ? 0.05) in the degree of which Islamic education teachers in the second cycle of basic education (5-10) are possessing the skills of the 21st century due to the gender variable of the sample of the head teachers in favor of females.
4- No statistically significant differences were observed with the respect to the factors of the years of experience or the governorate at (a ? 0.05) in the degree of which Islamic education teachers in the second cycle of basic education (5-10) are having the skills of the 21st century.
Considering these results, the study recommended to encourage, guide and train the Islamic education teachers to develop their digital skills in line with the best international practices in teaching through workshops or training courses, or through direct guidance and follow-up by the head teachers or supervisors.
