The study aimed at investigating the effectiveness of group counseling in reducing psychological Stresses among mothers with children facing learning disabilities at schools of the state of "Khaboura". The researcher has used an A quasi- experimental study design. Research instrument consisted of: a psychological stress scale (developed by the researcher) & a group counseling program (prepared by the researcher). After obtained validity and reliability. The psychological stress scale was applied on a sample consisting of (20) mothers. The recruitment of participants relied on the available number of mothers who agreed to participate in the study; the study sample was divided into a control group of (10 mothers) and an experimental
group
of
(10 mothers). Then the group counseling program was applied on the experimental sample, and it consisted of 16 sessions (2 sessions per week for 8 weeks), and finally to analyze the responses of participants in the sample the researcher used the statistical analysis program, "IBM SPSS Statistics". Results of analysis of covariance (ANCOVA) showed differences with statistical indications in the means of grades of psychological stresses among members of the two groups(the experimental and the control groups). The improvements in the grades among the experimental group after the study, due to implementation of the group counseling program.
Results of the non-parametric rank test, (WILCOXON), showed no differences with statistical indications at a level of (0.05) between the means of the experimental group in both posttest and follow-up measurement on grades of psychological stress This indicates the effectiveness of group counseling in reducing level of psychological stress among the experimental group membranes after finishing the period of the counseling program.
