This study aimed to identify the level of both career resilience and career beliefs
of career guidance specialists in the Sultanate of Oman, and to investigate any
differences that may exist in the levels of career resilience and career beliefs
according to gender variables, academic qualification, place of work and
number of years of experience. In addition, it aimed to explore to what extent
the level of the contribution of career resilience to predicting career beliefs. A
stratified random sample of 122 guidance specialists was selected. To achieve
the study objectives, the following tools were used: The career resilience scale
developed by Liu (2003) translated by the researcher, and the career beliefs
scale developed by Hardy (Hardy, 2011) translated by the researcher. The
validity and reliability of the two scales and their psychometric properties were
confirmed. The results showed that career resilience and the effective career
beliefs of career guidance specialists in the Sultanate of Oman were generally
at a high level. There are no significant differences in the level of career
resilience, and the level of career beliefs due to the variables of gender,
academic qualification and number of years of experience. While there are
statistically significant differences in the level of career resilience, and the level
of career beliefs due to the variable of the workplace in general. The results
also showed that career resilience contributed significantly to predict career
beliefs. In light of the results, some suggestions and recommendation were
documented.
