The aim of the study was to identify the degree of transformational
leadership practice among the principals of public schools in Oman and its
relationship to empowering the intellectual capital of its employee. To
achieve the goal of the study, the researcher followed the quantitative
descriptive approach and two tools were designed for the study. The first tool
is a transformational leadership questionnaire. The second questionnaire
measures the level of empowerment of intellectual capital. The study tools
consisted of (81) items. Their validity and reliability were found and the
study population is made up of (19057) teachers and administrators of
public schools from the governorates of Ash Sharqiyah North and Al Batinah
South and Dhofar. The sample of the study was selected in the random cluster model and consisted of (553) administrator and teacher from the
study community.
The results showed that the degree of transformational leadership
practice among school principals was" high "with an average of (4.12). The
results revealed statistically significant differences at the level of
significance (α=0.05) attributable to the gender variable in favor of females
and the variable of educational governorates in favor of the Al Batinah
South and the absence of statistically significant differences attributable to
the variable of the job title .The level of intellectual capital empowerment
was high ,with a statistically positive direct correlation between the degree
of transformational leadership and the empowerment of intellectual capital.
Based on these findings ,the researcher recommends to strengthening the use
of the school's transformational leadership style in schools, to determine the
current and future needs to ensure intellectual capital investment.
