The study is aimed to understand teachers' level of self-competence in
providing the strategy in developing educational methods for students having
learning disabilities. The same is reflected in this study in developing
creative thinking and academic performance i.e. the achievements of the
students with learning disabilities in a regular class.
The sample of the study consists of 200 teachers (males & females) working
in public education, from different governorates of the Sultanate in two basic.
The study was based on the descriptive correiational study method. In order
to achieve the goals of the study, self-competence measurement among
teachers has been developed with regard to the application of problem
solving strategy in developing creative thinking among the students with
learning disabilities.
The results indicated there have statistically significant differences attributed
to experience, specialization and gender of the teachers in public education.
Based on the findings of the study it is recommended to draw the attention of
those in charge of special education and teacher's training programs in the
Ministry of Education. It is needed to emphasize the importance of training
the teachers in public education and introducing them to students with
learning disabilities and effective approach to deal with them.
