الملخص الإنجليزي
The aim of this study is to measure the effectiveness of a training
program for developing crisis and disaster counseling skills among students
majoring in psychological counseling at the University of Sharqiyah in
Oman. To achieve the study's objectives, the researcher used a quasiexperimental design. The study tools included a crisis counseling skills scale
developed by Al-Khawaldeh and Tanous (2017) and a training program to
develop the skills of forecasting crisis and disasters by the researcher. The
study sample consisted of 40 male and female students who were
purposively selected based on their lower scores on the pre-test. They were
then divided into a control group (20 students) and an experimental group
(20 students), and homogeneity between the two groups was measured in the
pre-test. The results of the study showed statistically significant differences
between the control and experimental groups in the post-test scores in all
dimensions except the first dimension, where the results were not statistically
significant. In addition, the follow-up measurement results confirmed that
the difference between the average ranks of the experimental group in the
post-test and the average ranks in the follow-up measurement was not
statistically significant. Finally, the researcher recommended using the
training program presented in this study to train national crisis and disaster
responders.
