The study aimed to understand the reality of organizational creativity and its relationship with organizational behavior in government schools in the Sultanate of Oman from teachers' perspective. To achieve this, a descriptive correlational approach was used, and a questionnaire comprising (52) items was developed, divided into two main axes: organizational creativity with (24) items and organizational behavior with (28) items. The validity and reliability of the questionnaire were ensured, and it was administered to (383) male and female teachers from North Al Batinah Governorate and Al Buraimi Governorate in the Sultanate of Oman.
One of the key findings of the study is that the level of organizational creativity in government schools in the Sultanate of Oman, from teachers' perspective, was very high. The results also indicated statistically significant differences attributed to the gender variable (male, female) in the dimensions of administrative creativity, organizational creativity, and artistic creativity, favoring females. However, there were no significant differences attributed to job title in the dimensions of administrative creativity, organizational creativity, and technological creativity, nor were there differences attributed to educational qualification, governorate in all dimensions, or years of experience in all dimensions except for technological creativity, where differences favored experienced levels (more than 10 years).
The study also revealed that the level of organizational behavior in government schools in the Sultanate of Oman was generally very high. The results showed no statistically significant differences between the means of the study sample's evaluations of organizational behavior level attributed to gender and governorate in all dimensions. Additionally, there were no differences attributed to job title in all dimensions except for motivation and achievement, where differences favored the teacher job title. There were also no differences attributed to educational qualification in all dimensions except for organizational commitment, where differences favored the Master's and above category. Differences attributed to years of experience were found in all dimensions, favoring experienced levels (more than 10 years).
The study concluded that there is a statistically significant positive correlation between dimensions of organizational creativity and dimensions of organizational behavior in government schools in the Sultanate of Oman. Based on these findings, the study recommended that the ministry and directorates adopt the ideas of creative individuals in practical applications to serve as a catalyst for them and others to foster more creativity. It also recommended directing school management supervisors towards enhancing collaboration between schools, educational institutions, and strategic partners for the exchange of innovative ideas and practices.
