This study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of a group play therapy program in reducing withdrawal behavior in students with learning Difficuttis in North Batinah, Oman. A quasi-experimental mtthod was used to achieve the objectives of the stu. The study sample consisted of (40) students, of whom (28) students were selected who had high scores on the withdrawal behavior scale used. They were randomly divided into two groups, the control group consisting of (14) students and the experimental group consisting of (14) students. The study then verified the homogeneity of the two groups in the basic variables. The withdrawal behavior scale developed by Mohamed (2003) was applied after computing the reliability and validity of the scale. In addition, a group play therapy program developed by the researcher was applied to the experimental group, which consisted of (14) counseling sessions, each lasting (45) minutes.
The results of the study showed that there were statistically significant differences between the control and experimental groups in the follow-up test in favor of the experimental group. The results also showed that there were statistically significant differences between the pre-test and post-test of the experimental group in favor of the post-test, which indicates the effectiveness of the counseling program in reducing withdrawal behavior. The results also showed that there were no statistically significant differences between the post-test and follow-up test of the experimental group, which indicates the continuation of improvement in the experimental group.
