الملخص الإنجليزي
The study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of an educational program
based on blended learning on the geometric thinking and Motivation Towards
Learning Geometric of middle school students of basic education with different
cognitive styles. A quasi-experimental research design was used. The sample of the
study consisted of (135) students in the eighth grade of basic education, who were
divided into two groups: an experimental group of (65) students who studied using
an educational program based on blended learning, And a control group of (70)
students who studied in the usual way.
To achieve the objectives of the study, three study tools were prepared:
Geometric thinking test consisting of (27) multiple-choice items, Embedded figures
test to classify the two study groups into dependent and independent students, which
consists of (18) items and Motivation towards learning geometric scale consisting
of (22) items.
The results of (Two-Way ANCOVA) showed statistically significant
differences at (α ≤ 0.05) in both Geometric thinking test and Motivation towards
learning geometric scale due to the teaching method, in favor of the experimental
group. Also, the results showed statistically significant differences at (α ≤ 0.05) in
the geometric thinking test attributed to the cognitive styles (independent -
dependent) in favor of independent students. While the results showed no
statistically significant differences at (α ≤ 0.05) in the Motivation towards learning
geometric scale due to the cognitive styles (independent - dependent). The results
also showed that there were no statistically significant differences at (α ≤ 0.05) in
Geometric thinking test and Motivation towards learning geometric scale due to the
interaction between the teaching method and the cognitive styles.
In the light of the above results, several recommendations were proposed.
Such as conducting training courses for teachers on how to design educational
programs based on blended learning to solve many educational problems, and
enriching the Arabic library with videos and electronic applications that help
implement blended learning. In teaching. The study, also, suggested conducting
further studies to investigate the effectiveness of educational programs based on
blended learning in teaching Mathematics at other stages, grades and on other math
topics.
