This study aimed to identify the effectiveness of a proposed training program using a learning strategy based on problem solving in the development of some mathematical habits of mind among teachers. To a chieve this goal, a training program was designed for teachers to develop their mathematical habits of mind using problem solving strategy. The rsearcher also designed a test to measure mathematical habits of mind among teachers. Both, the training program and the mathematical test, were cheked for validity. Furthermore, the mathematical test was checked for reliability by giving the test to a group of (15) teachers and then calculating the reliability coefficient of (Alpha-Cronpach=0.79). The sample of the study consists of 6 mathematics teachers from the General Directorate of Education in North East Region in the Sultanate of Oman. This sample undergone parameters for two applications pre and post test mathematical habits of mind, The two applications included the implementation of the training program for ten days by 40 training hours. The study findings are as the following: • There is a statistically significant difference at the level of significance (a=0.5) between the means degrees of mathematics teachers (the study sample) in the two pre and post applications of the level of overall performance of mathematics teachers in the test of the mathematical habits of mind. There is a statistically significant difference at the level of significance (a=0.5) between the means degrees of mathematics teachers (the study sample) in the two pre and post applications of the level of partial performance of mathematics teachers in the test of every mathematical habits of mind. In light of the previous findings, the study recommends to adopt a leraning startegy based on problem solving in teaching some areas of mathematics in order more attention to the learners' thinking processes. Meanwhile, the study asserts that mathematics teachers teach the mathematical topics and address problems that the subject has in a way that involves the development of the habits of mind. It is also possible to benefit from the test of the mathematical habits of mind as well as the training program that the study has proposed when evaluating training programs relevant to solving problems.
