The purpose of this study was to examine the level of performance of first cycle female teachers of speaking Standard Arabic program in language oral communication skills. This study, also, aims to discover the difference in the level of performance in accordance to major and qualification variables. To achieve these aims, an observation card was designed. It was divided four parts and covered 15 skills. After ensuring its validity and reliability, it was applied on the sample of 45 teachers.
It was found that their language oral communication skills was on high level in general and it is also high in all language oral communication skills: vocal, linguistic, nonverbal (face features), educational. According to the results of this study, the level of performance varied as the following: -The level of performance was very high in the following skills: articulation of letter sounds clarity of the voice in the class. - The level of performance was high in the following skills: Having the right intonation which convey the right meaning. Having the ability to pronounce the endings of the words, Using Standard Arabic, Using the right expressions in different situations and using the appropriate gestures for ideas and feelings. -The level of performance was average in the following skills: Choosing where to stop and where to link sentences together, Using correct and complete linguistic structures Correcting the linguistic structures for students.
Moreover, based on qualification variable, it was found that there were no statistical differences among the respondents in terms of performing the examined skills, but based on major variable, there were statistical differences among the respondents in terms of performing the examined skills. This study recommends to care about programs and projects which aims to care about standard Arabic language. In addition, they increase all teacher,s awarrens about the importance of using standard Arabic language in education.
