The study aims at exploring how much the cycle-two teachers use some given teaching strategies that encourage creativity in their classroom. Also it aims at investigating the teacher differences in using the teaching strategies which may be attributed to three variables: the sex, years of experience and regions they belong to. A questionnaire of (50) statements of teaching practices divided into four main dimensions (teaching strategies, assessment strategies, class interaction and learning resources) was developed by the researcher. The sample of the study consisted of (393) teachers from two regions (Muscat and Batinah North) in the sultanate of Oman.
The results showed that the teachers often use the given teaching strategies, which encourage creativity in the classroom. Also the study showed that the teaching strategies which were frequently used by the sample belong to the class interaction dimension. Moreover, it was found that in the class interaction dimension female teachers used more teaching strategies than male teachers did. However, there were not significant differences in using the given teaching strategies among the teachers attributed to the years of experiences and the regions. The results were analyzed based on the study literature. At the end some suggestions and recommendations were given.
