This study aimed at investigating the effectiveness of using concept maps in the formative evaluation on female students acquisition of geographical concepts in the tenth grade. The study sample consisted of (59) students who were divided into two groups: an experimental group (30) students and a control group of (29) students. An achievement test was developed including (38) items. The test was administered at the end of teaching the selected unit. Findings: 1- There were statistically significant differences at the level of (a=0.05) between the two groups means of total achievement in favor of the experimental group. 2- There were statistically significant differences at the level of (a=0.05) between the two groups means of total achievement in the comprehension and application levels in favor of the experimental group. 3- There were no statistically significant differences at the level of (a= 0.05) between the two groups means of total achievement in the level of knowledge. Throughout the study results, the researcher recommended doing more researches for the using of concept maps as an evaluation tool
