This research examines the image in the poetry of Sheikh Abdullah bin Majid al-Hadrami. The study of its comprehensiveness covers all aspects, whether the one related to the types of relations on which the image or the sources of the poet derived the images from based on the analytical descriptive approach.
This research came in an introduction, three chapters, a conclusion and a list of sources and references. The introduction deals with a brief definition of the poet. It also deals with the definition of poetic image in terms of language and terminology. It also talks about the evolution of the poetic image from Plato and the ancient literary criticism through the heritage of Arbic monetary and rhetorical and ended with the modern criticism.
The first chapter examines the relations of similarities of both types: similarity and metaphor in two parts: The first section on analogy. It address the definition of analogy in the language and terminology and studies the types of simulations reported by our poet in his Diwan.
The second section is on metaphor and its definition in the language and the terminology, indicating the importance of metaphor in the poet's feelings and emotions about the various purposes in which he writes poetry and then came poetic quotations about the use of the poet metaphor in the expression of various poetic purposes analysis of these verses and indicating the technical value of borrowing in the Poet's destination.
The second chapter deals with the relationship between the two domains. The first topic discussed the concept of truth and metaphor analysis of what the poet in this area, indicating the type of relationships found in the transmitted metaphor. The second topic dealt with the study of the metaphor, indicating its artistic and aesthetic value, and its role in distancing the poet's purposes.
The third chapter deals with studying the sources of the image in two sections. The first topic on nature as a source of images in the poetry of Sheikh Abdullah bin Majid Hadrami.
The second topic deals with the daily life and human experiences of the poet. This chapter shows the importance of the source of the image in the formulation of the poet's experience and conveying his ideas and purposes.
Then the conclusion came to show the most important findings of the research and then followed by the codification of sources and references.
