The study aimed at recognizing the impact of applying the Cooperative Learning Strategy on the Self-esteem and the Academic Achievement in the Islamic Education of the Seven-Basic-Grade Students. The sample of the study included (61) female students at the Seventh Basic Grade from of Al-Sharqia South Region in the Sultanate of Oman.
The students were divided into two groups. The first group was the experimental group including 30 female students from (Al-Kamil Basic School), while the second was the control one consisting of 31 female students from (Lubaba bint Al-Harith Basic school).
For the purpose of meeting the study goals, the researcher adapted the Cooperative Learning Strategy in designing the third unit of the Islamic Studies manual for the seventh basic grade class. He also devised a (30)multiple-choice-question achievement test and a self-measure scale consisting of 40 items, the reliability and validity of both sections were ensured.
The achievement pretest and the self-measure scale were assigned to both sample groups to make sure that they are counterparts. In addition,
a (T.test) was used to identify the level of the differences among the mean-rating of both groups.
After finishing the study and repeating the achievement test and the self-measure scale for the purpose of knowing the difference between the means of the points of both groups, the study proved the existence of statistically significant differences between the means of both groups in favor of the experimental group.
The study has come to several recommendations including: 1- Using the Cooperative Learning Strategy according to Jigsaw Model in teaching Islamic Studies for its positive effect such on improving the different skills related to all branches of the filed especially reciting and memorizing the Holy Quran. . 2- Paraphrasing new contents for Islamic Studios manuals according to clear samples and procedures for the teacher, as to include the Cooperative Learning Strategy.
