The study consists of an introduction, a preface, a theoretical
chapter and two practical chapters. In the introduction I dealt with
the image in the Al Bahlani 's poetry and a representation of the
main reasons that led me to do this study and the methodology
and the research plan that I followed.
In the preface I talked the importance of Abu Musalam Al
Bahlani the poet and the general effects on his personality and his
style and finally his impact on Omani poets.
In the first theoretical chapter I touched upon the concept of the
image with old and contemporary Arab critics. I also dealt with
the characteristics of image in classical poetry to give a preview
of Al Bahlani 's poetry.
In the second chapter (the artistic structure of the image) I dealt
with the graphic formats of analogy and metaphor. In addition to
the analytical and descriptive method I also followed the
statistical method in order to obtain accurate results in the
proportion of the use of graphic images in the poetry of Al
Bahlani . In the application of the statistical method I used 500
images of various poem topics. In the second section of this
chapter I studied the grammatical forms of the image in Al

Bahlani 's poetry which varied between nominal, actual and
epithet.
The third chapter (the image and the semantic field) is divided
into 3 sections. In the first section I talked about the sources of the
image in Al Bahlani 's poetry, focusing on the silent and
animated nature. In the second section of this study I examined
the semantic patterns shift (diagnosis, embodiment, and
abstraction). In the third section is about the image and the senses,
in which I dealt with the visual, audio, gustatory and olfactory
images.
I ended this study with a conclusion in which I enumerated the
outcomes reached.
