The study aimed to study coaching as an approach for principals' professional development in the Sultanate of Oman in the light of the experiences of some countries. The study used a descriptive methodology and the Comparative approach to analyze the experiences of each of the United States, the United Kingdom and Australia in coaching. A questionnaire is designed based on the results of the comparative analysis and analysis of the reality of professional development for principals in the Sultanate. It was applied on a sample of (399) schools principals and training specialists from all governorates of the Sultanate. The results of the study showed the importance of coaching as an approach for principals' professional development in the Sultanate of Oman. The responses of the sample were compartment between large and medium degree of importance to all the paragraphs of the areas. The results also showed a significant difference for the gender variable in favor of females, and there were no significant differences were found for the variables of years of experience and profession. The study concluded with a submit proposal of coaching as an approach for principals' professional development in the Sultanate of Oman in the light of some countries' experiences.
