The aim of the current study is to examine the efficiency of using pictures and graphics to practice the grammatical rules of grade 10 basic education in Oman. Moreover, it aims to examine their attitude towards these activities. To achieve this, the researcher prepared numbers of grammar activities that are used with pictures and graphics, performance tests and a measurement tool. All of these
were proposed to some experts to test their validity. According to the reliability of the internal consistency, the Cranach's alpha was (0.73) and the reliability of the measurement tool was (0.81).
The sample of the study was divided into two groups. The experimental group consisted of 26 students and the control group involved 24 students. These students were asked to do the activities normally. When the activities with the pictures and graphics were practiced, both groups had a grammar test. Additionally, a measurement tool was used to find out about the students' attitudes. The study results shows a significant difference means between the two groups. This was for the experimental group due to the practice that the students
got using pictures and graphics. The amount of differences was average. However, there was not a significant difference between the means in the students' attitudes. The researcher justified this. The researcher recommends that pictures and graphics can be very
beneficial in teaching grammar and they can be used in different studying levels in schools. Moreover, the Arabic language teachers can use them to improve their students' visual/spatial thinking. This will increase the efficiency of combining the verbal and non-verbal language (with pictures and graphics).
