The Study aimed to answer the following questions:
A- What are the training needs , professional , academic, and cultural, necessary for Arabic language teachers in secondary education ?
B- In light of these needs , What is the current state of Arabic language teachers training?
C- What is the Proposal conception for training Arabic language teachers in secondary education in light of their needs? To answer the first and the second questions the researcher has developed a list of training needs of Arabic language teachers in secondary education. then a questionnaire was developed which consists of two parts: The first part measures the need for teachers training, and the second part measures to what extent the current training programs are considering the previous needs for training. After presenting the questionnaires statements to the committee, 70 statements were agreed upon and were distributed into three fields
A- The educational and Professional field.
B- The specialized academic field.
C- The cultural field.
After assuring its reliability and validity by using alpha the questionnaire was applied by the researcher, for , a random sample of (195) male and female teachers and (34) supervisors of Arabic language in secondary education. The study has resulted into many results like: A- the members of the study sample consider all the fields of training needs necessary for Arabic language teachers in secondary education .
B- Generally the current training programs do not consider those training needs of Arabic language teachers in secondary education.
The study concluded by providing a Proposal conception for training Arabic teachers based on the training needs that are presented and specified in this study. Finally the study has presented some recommendations and suggestions of future studies.
1. Recommendations:
A- All the training needs that are specified by the study as necessary for training Arabic language teachers should be considered.
B- Increasing the number and time of the training programs that are available for Arabic language teachers because of their insufficiency as was shown by this study.
2. Suggestions for future studies:
C- Specification of the important training needs of language Arabic teachers in all school levels (elementary and preparatory).
D- Specification of training needs for teachers in Basic Education. E- Evaluating the current training programs for Arabic teachers in the different stages of schooling
