It was observed that of the few cases that were given press coverage, an in-depth account was lacking in order to instil awareness where principles and the multidimensional aspects of human rights exist. Despite the persistence of local journalists publishing the few articles on human rights, limitations remain where the misuse of terminology when referring to international instruments. This confirms the lack of awareness and knowledge within journalists where human rights concepts are concerned. As a result local journalists depend on foreign news agencies in order to portray human rights issues, as a consequence, human rights news are thus not always analyzed but simply transferred from foreign news agencies to local. In conclusion, the study provides recommendations for the development and improved coverage of human rights within the Arab regional newspapers
