This study aimed to identify the methods of common thinking styles among students of the University of Nizwa in accordance with the model Sternberg, as well as the difference between the university students by sex (male - female), also aimed to detect the predictability of psychological Resilience among university students by thinking styles, and study sample consisted of 173 students (72 males and 101 females), were chosen randomly out of the study population. The researcher used the descriptive approach Correlative, and to achieve the objectives of the study The study used the Short List to think of the list Sternberg styles, expressed by Mr. Abu Hashim (2007), and scale the psychological resilience of preparation Connor - Davidson, abridged (CD RISC) and expressed by the researcher.
Academic results have shown the following:
- The most Styles of Thinking common among University students is the Executive Style followed Hierarchic Style then Legislative Style and last preferences students Style is Global Style.
- A high level of psychological resilience among university students.
- There are differences in the function of Styles of patterns according to gender thinking and these Styles are (Judicial, Global, Local, and Oligarchic, anarchic) and all of them were in favor of males.
- There were significant differences on a scale resilience for gender variable in favor of
females.
There is a statistically significant correlation at the level of significance (0.01) between some thinking styles (legislative, executive, judicialal, internal) and psychological Resilience, while there is statistically significant correlation at the level of (0.05) between thinking styles (liberal, Conservative, And psychological Resilience. The results did not indicate a statistically significant correlation between each of the thinking styles (conservative, universal, chaotic, local) and psychological Resilience.
